Hi, I’m Ryutaro.<\/p>\n

This is my first time writing an article on this website.<\/p>\n

I attended IEEE eScience 2024 as a staff member and will share my experience from the event.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I participated in the “Cloud DevOps for Scientific Workflows” tutorial in the morning and the “Sustainable Project Pathways for HPC Software and Applications” workshop in the afternoon.<\/p>\n

“Tutorials” involve hands-on training, while “Workshops” feature a presentation followed by Q&A and discussions.<\/p>\n

The core of the conference is called the “Main Conference”, which took place from the third to the fifth day during IEEE eScience 2024.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The morning tutorial focused on KubeFlow, an open-source platform for developing, managing, and executing machine learning workflows, where we had the opportunity to try it out ourselves. Additionally, tools like Prometheus and Grafana were introduced, and I found it interesting to learn about various tools that are useful for machine learning.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In the afternoon workshop, researchers mainly discussed sustainability.<\/p>\n

One of the topics raised during the session was whether AI could be used for code refactoring.<\/p>\n

This is my first time hearing the term “code smell”, which refers to a symptom in the code that indicates a potential underlying issue or poor design.<\/p>\n

The participants were actively engaging in discussions from various perspectives.<\/p>\n

In my future, I want to engage in discussions as activly as they did.<\/p>\n

Finally, I realized that my English skills are still lacking, as I could barely understand the speakers.<\/p>\n

I will do my best to improve my speaking and listening abilities.<\/p>\n
